Core Facility Mass Spectrometric Proteomics

The Core Facility Mass Spectrometric Proteomics deals with the analysis of proteins by liquid chromatography-coupled tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
This includes the identification and quantification of proteins from mass spectrometry-compatible samples of defined phenotypes.

News

From the beginning of 2023, we have a new booking portal :

Protein Identification Service:
This service will give you a list of identified proteins in the samples as output.

Book the protein identification service under „Order“ —> "Core Facility Proteomics-UKE" and book your samples for the „Protein Identification Service“.
Afterwards you will be asked to fill put sample-related information (e.g. organism). After you see „Order completed“ go to the end of the site and "Add a manifest“. You can select the template „Sample list for proteomics“ and add the sample information

Proteomics Project:
This includes a quantitative analysis of your samples and their different phenotypes.

We will send you an E-Mail to make an appointment with us and discuss your project. Talk to us before you send samples to us!

Section Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics

The aims of the Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics research group are to develop, establish and apply

  • interactive, multi-disciplinary approaches for answering scientific questions via mass spectrometric approaches, bringing together scientific expertise from diverse areas such as biology, biochemistry, bioinformatics and medicine
  • improved or new proteome analytical methods including
    • collection and storage of specimen
    • sample preparation (homogenization of tissues, extraction of biomolecules)
    • separation of biomolecules by liquid chromatography and other methods like electrophoresis
    • mass spectrometric approaches
    • algorithms and scripts for data processing and interpretation

Cooperation partners are welcome to participate in seminars and lectures about mass spectrometric proteomics.
